Enjoy our small oases

Around Aggersvold, you will find several small oases where you can sit and enjoy the peace, the sun, or a cup of coffee.

Take a break by the herb garden, where a small terrace creates a green haven with views of nature and birdlife. Here, there is space to retreat and simply be present.

You can also settle in at the reception lounge or in the orangery, where we have created a cozy area for our guests. What the small oases have in common is that they invite calm, presence, and small breaks throughout the day – whether you are alone or with others.

Pétanque court

Try our pétanque court, located behind Ridesalen and Rytterstuen. Collect equipment at the reception and enjoy a game in the peaceful surroundings.

Pétanque is an ideal activity for couples, friends, and smaller groups – regardless of level. The game is easy to pick up and offers a pleasant break during the day, where the pace slows down and togetherness is in focus.

The court is surrounded by nature, allowing you to combine the game with fresh air and relaxation in green surroundings. Perfect as an informal activity before dinner or as part of a relaxing stay at the estate.

Explore our forest and park

Aggersvold Forest invites calm, presence, and experiences in nature. Whether you choose to walk or cycle, there are great opportunities to explore the area at your own pace.

The forest is home to rich wildlife, including deer and birds, and the landscape varies between open areas, paths, and small hidden spots that invite you to take a break along the way. Take a walk around the lake, or follow one of the recommended routes through the forest.

We are happy to help with suggestions for walking and cycling routes, so you can make the most of your stay in the scenic surroundings.

Visit the herb garden

You are welcome to take a walk in the cozy herb garden.

The herb garden is designed as a small, peaceful haven where you can smell and experience the season’s fresh herbs.

The garden is open to all guests and invites a quiet break during the day, where you can step back a little and let your shoulders relax.

If there is fruit on the trees, you are welcome to pick some and enjoy it.

Præstegården Jyderup

Visit the city's rectory, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee and one of their popular cakes. They also serve open sandwiches if you are more than just deliciously hungry. Also take a look in the farm shop where you can buy herbs and flowers and shop interior for the home.

Dyrehøj Vineyard

Dyrehøj Vingård is Denmark’s largest of its kind. Here, grapes are grown on chalky slopes in sunny Røsnæs near Kalundborg. You can visit their wine shop and cheese shop, and they also arrange guided tours of the vineyards.

You might consider bringing some wine and cheese back to the estate and enjoying your newly purchased treats on the terrace or in your room.

Trip to the beach

Aggersvold Gods is just a 15-minute drive from the beach (Vraget Strand). Here, you can swim, build sandcastles, and take walks in the dunes.

If you drive to the beach heading west, for example Gisseløre Strand, you will experience the most beautiful sunset just 30 minutes from the estate.

Around Skarresø

If you enjoy hiking or cycling, you should experience the route around Skarresø. Here, you can observe rich birdlife with more than 144 different species, including the red kite, which can be spotted from the lake’s birdwatching point. Fishing is also permitted in certain areas around the lake, provided you have a fishing license.

The route around the lake is 11 km long.

Museum Vestsjælland

Museum Vestsjælland is a collection of museums that together cover the West Zealand area, with exhibitions ranging from the Middle Ages to the street environment from when H.C. Andersen attended Latin school in Kalundborg. At Odsherred Museum, you can also see the exhibition on the Sun Chariot, a relic from the Bronze Age.

Birkegårdens Haver

Visit Birkegårdens Haver outside Ruds Vedby and enjoy a day with farm animals, playgrounds, and other cozy family activities such as mini golf, donkey rides, and more.

Café Forsinket

It is the people behind the legendary Café Bankeråt in Copenhagen who run Café Forsinket. The café is open all day and serves a combination of brasserie dishes, burgers, steak, salads, fish, and smørrebrød with a twist.

Café Forsinket is located in the center of town by Jyderup Station and is a very popular meeting place.

We recommend checking the opening hours and, if needed, booking a table in advance.
